Disaster-free ’80s styling - ic Wales(80s Fashion)

One of the biggest trend influences has been a re-interpretation of the ’80s – but oh dear, if you get it wrong and resort to the styling techniques, appliances and products that were used first time around, it can result in finger-pointing disaster. A return to the ’80s means an influence from that time – texture and movement, shorter layers throughout the top, lots of waves and tousled curls. It does not mean that if you’re still wearing a tired old ’80s mullet you’re suddenly back en vogue. It would be fair to say that the worries and anxieties we now have with the ozone layer may be due to the huge amounts of hairspray we used back then to hold the gravity-defying creations that gave little thought for hair texture, face shape or lifestyle. A great example is the colour change to bright orange from the dark crop of Agynes Deyn for the Giles spring-summer 08 London Fashion Week show.
