What exactly does a fashion designer do?

If I can only draw clothing does that mean I can be a fashion designer someday? Or am I supposed to know how to MAKE clothes too?

you need to know how to make clothes also if you get the chance to show off your clothes to a distrubiter or someone who can take you places you need to be able to make your own clothes you have to sttart from the bottom then when your on top is when you can pay ppl for making your clothes but for right now you have to=D hope this helps

well a fashion designer designs clothes other people sew the clothes. you cant imagine coco chanel sewing clothes

WELL HERES THE DEAL WHEN I GET OLDER I WANT TO BE A FASION DESIGNER AND I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DRAW REALLY WELL AND KNOW HOW TO SEW YOU ALSO HAVE TO HAVE A CERTIN BRAND NAME!!!! GOOD LUCK
